Pumping units of the Belgorod Hydromechanical Plant have been widely used in the field of environmental protection and are used for effective treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater. The design features of the screw equipment make it possible to isolate up to 95% of insoluble impurities from wastewater.

Wastewater treatment is one of the main issues for any manufacturing enterprise. This is due to stricter environmental legislation and increased fines for untreated wastewater emissions.

To solve these problems, industrial wastewater treatment plants are used, which include single-screw pumping units of the SP-H (horizontal) and SP-V (vertical) series. The cleaning complex includes four main stages, each of which uses BSMZ equipment.

Stages of wastewater treatment

The mechanical stage

The medium prepared for cleaning is supplied by a slurry or sapropel pump to grates, sand traps and septic tanks. The maximum gap width of the filter devices usually does not exceed 16 mm. The SP series screw pumps are capable of pumping liquid with soft inclusions up to 74 mm and solid fractions up to 50 mm, which guarantees uninterrupted supply even in case of large contamination.

The biological stage

With the help of SP-H or SP-V pumps, the medium enters primary settling tanks, aerotanks or metatanks, where wastewater mineralization and removal of organic nitrogen and phosphorus take place. The primary settling tanks are followed by a line of radial settling tanks, where screw pumps are used to pump activated sludge and sediment.

Physico-chemical stage

At this stage, mechanical dewatering of the sludge is carried out using flocculants, coagulants and other reagents. Chemical pumps made of stainless steel with NBR (nitrile), EPDM or FKM (Viton) stator elastomers are used to dose and supply these substances, depending on the aggressiveness of the medium.

Disinfection of wastewater

The final stage is disinfection of the purified liquid with a solution of chlorine or hypochlorite. The screw pumps of the SP series in chemical design effectively cope with this task.

Non-standard solutions

Belgorod Hydromechanical Plant also develops pumps for solving non-standard tasks. SP-H horizontal screw pumps of special series are included in mobile cleaning devices and are used in thermal waste disposal.
